Super-Sized DIY ‘Knit’ Floor Furniture, Cushions & Blankets

Colorful creations by Bauke Knottnerus are composed of all different sizes of flexible noodle-like strands of various colors that are interwoven to create objects that are at once hard to peg within typical furniture categories but easy to identify functional uses for.

The options for weaving and tying together these threads into functional patterns are fairly limitless – except for the lack of structure to hold them up, which confines them to being used mainly as floor furniture.

Not every piece of old clothing is fit for the Salvation Army. Some things are too full of holes or, well, let’s face it, too embarrassingly outdated for you to subject even a total stranger to. With this simple and material-light clothing container furniture you can simply stuff your old clothes (ideally after one last wash of course) into a new shape and use as plush and padded furniture.

French furniture giant Roche Bobois celebrates the 50-years anniversary in collaboration with couturier Jean Paul Gaultier.
Together they worked out the new collection of furniture which got the name Jean Paul Gaultier Pour Roche Bobois Paris.
“I don’t see myself as a furniture designer,” the couturier said when he unveiled the tie-up earlier this year.
But as someone who designs clothes, “it seems legitimate to take an interest in the home.”
Gaultier conjured up a modular sofa, which lets customers pick and choose between marine stripe with red pom-poms, lace, calligraphy or tatoo patterns as well as glamourous celluloid kissing scenes.

I love these interiors and displays of the collection. I love the strips combined with the other patterns, colours and textures. This is what I have been trying to do in my own work

Before and After.  Refinished and upholstered with my own hand printed fabric.  My Grandfather and I overhauled this set of chairs over the summer and I’m still impressed with how they turned out.

How To Build A Pallet Day Bed | Prudent Baby
I swear I don’t have a pallet obsession. Though if you looked back on my blog you may come to that conclusion. Don’t look back on my blog! Haha! I reckon I could get enough pallet DIYs that you could build all the furniture in your house with them. This piece is a double duty piece - a comfy bed for chillaxing on while you read a book or lay out in the warm air or a chair for many while you entertain. Plus it’s easy to do if you have the right tools! Get to starting on your pallet house yo!

By Susanne Westphal, this contemporary piece/s of furniture called Discovery of Slowness, seems to be a lovely cosy idea of buying a chair that you sculpt and develop into something totally personal and unique to yourself, I love that idea of unwinding the wool from one piece and using it to stitch the other making them both even more beautiful.
